Krauthammer To Hannity: If White House Had Any Connection To IRS Scandal, It Will Be ‘Fatal Problem’ For Obama

Charles Krauthammer sat down with Sean Hannity to react to President Obama denying he had any advance knowledge of the IRS targeting tea party groups. Krauthammer suspected that there may be more to the White House’s involvement in the scandal, predicting that if thee was any White House involvement in the scandal and such involvement becomes public knowledge, it will deal a fatal blow to the Obama administration.

Krauthammer argued the IRS one is the easiest for the public to digest since it’s an agency that can do quite a bit of harm to people. And while there is no evidence yet that Obama was involved, Krauthammer predicted if it is discovered that the White House had any connection to it, it would become a “fatal problem” for the White house.

He made it clear that this isn’t on par with Watergate (though IRS abuse was one part of that scandal), and noted how Obama only denied personal involvement, not a lack of involvement by the entire executive branch. Krauthammer found it odd that general counsel in the White House had knowledge of this weeks ago but supposedly said nothing.

Krauthammer stated, “The one issue that can fell a presidency is the corruption of the IRS coming from on high.” Hannity pointed to the denials of political targeting by the former head of the IRS when such targeting was going on, and both he and Krauthammer suspected someone will be fired over this in the future.

Krauthammer also said that Benghazi hasn’t gotten more attention is because of the lack of media coverage and the complexity of the scandal that has not fully resonated with the public.
