MSNBC’s Willie Geist Reportedly Set To Host Today Show 9 A.M. Hour
The New York Times‘ Brian Stelter reports that MSNBC’s Willie Geist will take over co-hosting duties for the Today Show‘s 9 a.m. hour on mothership broadcast network NBC.
According to Stelter’s anonymous source, the promotion is expected to be announced by NBC this week.
In addition to co-hosting the third hour, Geist will serve as a backup for the first two hours’ host Matt Lauer.
Geist will also continue to play a role in MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the morning show on which he makes frequent appearances. But he will cease hosting duties for Way Too Early, MSNBC’s 5:30 a.m. broadcast that precedes Joe.
