Newt Gingrich Joins Fox News As Contributor

Former Republican Speaker of the House and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has joined Fox News as a contributor according to a Politico report. A Fox News spokesperson confirmed Politico’s story.

Politico’s Playbook broke the news Friday morning. “Playbook has learned that Newt Gingrich just signed with FOX News Channel as a contributor,” Politico’s Mike Allen wrote.

Gingrich is currently a political contributor at CNN, although this move likely indicates an end of that arrangement. Gingrich was brought on as one of the conservative hosts of the short-lived revival of Crossfire, but still made regular appearances on the network after the show’s cancellation.
