President Obama Inserts ‘Birther’ Joke Into Stump Speech In N.H.
While addressing a crowd in Nashua, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, President Barack Obama made a joke about the “birther” movement’s unwavering interest in his birth certificate.
President Obama recounted Mitt Romney‘s time as governor of Massachusetts, focusing on tax cuts he give to wealthy families while raising taxes (or fees, as Romney has referred to them) on the middle class. Listing all the fees Romney raised, Obama added that he “raised fees to get a birth certificate — which would have been expensive for me.”
