President Obama Will Be A Guest On The View This Thursday (Update)

 

Some pretty crazy things have been happening on The View lately, and the show is about to get even more interesting. That’s because President Barack Obama is scheduled to appear as a guest on this Thursday’s broadcast, becoming the first sitting president to ever appear on a daytime talk show.

His status as a featured guest is a part of the show’s “Red, White, and View” series, in which the hosts center their discussion around American politics. According to CNN, Obama will talk about the economy, the BP oil disaster, his accomplishments as president, and also life at the White House.

The episode, which will be taped Wednesday and air Thursday, will be his third visit to the show (in March 2008 he paid the ladies a visit when he was still a Senator, and his original appearance was back in 2004 when he was doing promo work for his book, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance”).

Barbara Walters, who has been noticeably absent from the program following her heart surgery in May, will return to interview Obama for the historic event. But – no offense, Babs – the interaction to look forward to most is the likely uncomfortable one between Obama and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
