Scarborough: GOP Sues over Obamacare But Runs from War Debate
Morning Joe cohost Joe Scarborough wondered where Congress was on the air strikes into Syria, especially the GOP leadership that has made such a fuss over President Barack Obama’s alleged constitutional overstep.
“I’ve got no problem with this Congress suing the president over how he’s interpreting the ACA,” Scarborough said. “But my god — if you are going to go to the courts over something like that, [yet] you’re going to completely shirk your responsibility on the biggest constitutional question before Congress? The hypocrisy of the Republicans here!”
“They have abandoned their posts,” Scarborough said. “I point directly at [House Speaker] John Boehner and the House of Representatives. …What’s he doing? Where is he?” (Campaigning.)
“And if things go badly, what’s going to happen?” Scarborough continued. “They’re going to come back and all attack the President of the United States. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, where are you? Why didn’t you stay in Congress and shame your colleagues to have this debate?”
