Shep Smith Loses His Patience Over BP CEO’s ‘Beyond Snotty’ Remarks
I think it’s safe to say that Shep Smith is not impressed with BP Oil’s response to last month’s devastating Gulf Oil spill. During a Studio B segment this afternoon about today’s Capitol Hill hearing on drilling, Shep expressed his disgust over the “snotty” statement of BP head Tony Hayward that the company would “honor legitimate claims…this is America, come on, we’re going to have lots of illegitimate claims. We all know that.” Really? Shep was not happy with that response.
Said Shep to the reporter who had interviewed Hayward: “Sometimes the written word doesn’t give you the tone that it was involved. But when I looked at it it looked like he was just being beyond snotty…did it sound like that?” Short answer: Not a lot was lost in translation. Fortunately you don’t need translator to gauge Shep’s contempt. Video below.
