Stephen Colbert Asks “Why Can’t Jesus Be A Dorito™?”

Last week we drew attention to a reasonably absurd debate hosted by Megyn Kelly regarding a fan-created Doritos™ advertisement and whether it was blasphemous. Last night, Stephen Colbert pointed out that Doritos™ never intended for this advertisement to air, and thanked Ms. Kelly for airing the ad, giving Catholics the opportunity for outrage.

Watch the very funny segment from Comedy Central that starts with classic satirical media criticism and ends with a dadaist fight between Colbert and a live Big Gulp™ character.

Fox personalities are either dum or just playing dumb to their audience.

His opening bit about be moved by Hitler {Obama} was pretty sharp as well. And check out his The Word from the 12th Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of angriness.

I would just like to point out that there is NOTHING in this ad to suggest it is the Catholic Eucharist being depicted, and in fact the “priest” is called “Pastor” by the younger minister, not “Father”, which would suggest it’s a Protestant church. So not only is Kelly being an alarmist dick, she’s simply wrong. Quel surprise.
