Arizona swing voters who flipped from having backed former President Joe Biden in 2020 to voting for President Donald Trump last year sent a clear message of support for the new administration’s aggressive start and Elon Musk’s cost cuts for “cleaning house.”

Axios reported Friday that at a recent Engagious/Sago focus group, all 11 participants backed the president’s executive order blitz and push for “big changes” – even if the method is “unconventional.”

The sentiment was summed up by one participant: “It’s needed to get America back on track.”

The group had little concern that Trump’s moves — many of which are facing court challenges — could lead to a constitutional crisis. When asked about the possibility of Trump defying the Supreme Court, another participant said: “That wouldn’t happen. I’m not even thinking about it.” Another dismissed the idea as “fearmongering.”

The view of Musk was equally approving and trusting, with little concern expressed in relation to questions about a conflict of interest while he pushes the federal cost-cutting agenda.

“I approve because I believe he’s transparent, and we haven’t had that for the last four years,” one participant said.

There was, however, one area of misalignment: Participants were not on board with Trump’s proposal of displacing Palestinians and redeveloping Gaza under US control.

Instead, they want him focused on domestic issues. Some also hoped for faster action on inflation, but they were willing to give Trump leeway despite campaign promises to address rising prices.
