Bill Hemmer Savages ABC for Releasing Biden Interview in Small Pieces: ‘I Want to Hear His Entire Answer’
Bill Hemmer lamented ABC News on Wednesday for airing a select number of clips from George Stephanopoulos‘ interview with President Joe Biden.
“I want to hear his entire answer play out the way it does, or the way it did, in front of Stephanopolous,” Hemmer said in a segment with Fox’s Dana Perino. He was reacting to Stephanopolous’ interview with the president, parts of which aired Tuesday evening on ABC.
The clips showed Biden telling immigrants not to come to the United States illegally. “A lot of the migrants coming in are saying they’re coming in because you promised to make things better,” Stephanopolous told the president. “It seems to be getting worse.”
“Do you have to say quite clearly ‘Don’t come’?” Stephanopolous asked. Biden replied, “Yes. I can say quite clearly don’t come. … Don’t leave your town or city or community.”
Perino opined in the segment with Hemmer, “I just didn’t think that was that strong. If you read it on paper, you’d be like, ‘OK, that’s fine.’ But there’s a forcefulness with which you need to say something like that, I believe. We’re getting to a point where the situation is getting, reaching a level, crisis, challenge, catastrophe that they can’t ignore it.”
