Bill Maher Floats the Idea of Biden Dumping Kamala Harris to Form a ‘Dream’ Ticket With Nikki Haley or Romney

Bill Maher suggested President Joe Biden should dump Vice President Kamala Harris and replace her with either Nikki Haley or Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT).
As part of a panel discussion Friday on Real Time, the HBO host floated the provocative idea.
“I know it’s crazy to think that she could run with Biden,” Maher said. “But that’s my dream, a unity ticket. And then he would, I think, definitely win.”
Maher went on to concede Haley has made “crazy” comments — including, notably, her observation that America has “never been a racist country.”
In response, Puck’s Tara Palmeri told Maher, “You would literally destroy the Democratic base. Take off the first African American Vice President off the ticket?”
“She’s a woman of color,” Maher replied — referring to Haley.
“But Black women are the core of the Democratic party,” Palmeri said.
Later in the segment (via the NY Post), Maher suggested Romney would fit the bill as well.
“Something to reach across so that we don’t live in this world where everybody sees the other side as an existential threat,” Maher said.
In an interview this week with Mediaite’s Aidan McLaughlin, Maher re-upped his call for Biden to drop out of the race.
“If Biden drops out [Democrats] will win,” Maher said. “Without doubt.”
