Fox News Publishes Op-Ed Warning Tulsi Gabbard’s Obama Accusations Are a Dangerous ‘Effort to Rewrite History’

Fox News published a searing op-ed by Ned Price, a former Biden official, accusing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard of spreading misinformation about the 2016 election to deflect from scandals facing the Trump administration in an “effort to rewrite history.”
Price, who previously served as State Department spokesperson, deputy U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and senior advisor to the Secretary of State, slams Gabbard’s recent claim that senior Obama officials orchestrated a “treasonous conspiracy” to falsely accuse Russia of interfering in the 2016 presidential election.
According to Gabbard, newly declassified documents support her argument that intelligence was “weaponized” to damage then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Yet Price calls this a “rhetorical sleight of hand.” He argues that Gabbard conflates “hacking” — changing vote totals or systems — with “influence” operations, such as Russian propaganda and disinformation campaigns.
While it’s true that Russia didn’t alter votes, the U.S. intelligence community, under both Obama and Trump, has consistently affirmed that Moscow tried to alter the outcome in Trump’s favor.
Price also points out that this isn’t Gabbard’s first attempt to reframe the events of 2016. He notes that her claims echo long-debunked talking points, contradicted not just by bipartisan Senate investigations but also by the Trump administration’s own intelligence officials.
He writes that Gabbard, notably America’s top intelligence official, is “busying herself by fabricating partisan events,” all while distracting from the Trump and Epstein controversy at hand.
“It would be a cheap ploy if undertaken by just about any other U.S. official,” he wrote.
