Joe Scarborough Blasts Biden’s Critics For Also Confusing Words: ‘Does David Axelrod Need to Get Off of TV?’
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough rounded on critics of President Joe Biden’s refusal to step down from the 2024 campaign race for calling out the president’s verbal mistakes as proof of his mental unfitness by attacking their slip-ups.
Speaking to co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough specifically gave chase to former Obama strategist and Biden-critical CNN commentator David Axelrod, who has become a frequent critic of the current president, but also misnamed someone after pointing out that Biden had clipped a word during a primetime address to the nation following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Scarborough began by asking viewers to examine “transcripts” of Trump’s speeches, which he argued displayed a disparity in “working knowledge” between the two candidates, before pivoting to Axelrod.
The host began: “By the way, it’s very funny. David Axelrod, a couple of nights ago, was going through when Joe Biden spoke on Sunday night; he cut a word off. And David Axelrod, of course, had to bring that up.”
“And then got someone’s anime wrong,” Brzezinski added.
“And then got someone’s name wrong,” Scarborough repeated.
He continued: “ So I’m saying, does David Axelrod need to get off TV? I mean, this happens. Media people keep going: ‘Oh, Joe Biden confused names.’ Then they throw it to somebody and they confuse the name.”
Brzezinski said: “We know we do that.”
“We do it a lot,” Scarborough agreed.
