Kamala Harris ‘Gladly’ Agrees to CNN Debate After Trump Declares ‘NO THIRD DEBATE’
Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted the CNN’s invitation to participate in an October 23 debate, the network reports, though whether former President Donald Trump remains unclear as the former president said Saturday he has no interest in another showdown.
CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield announced the news and said the debate would be similar to the one Trump took part in with President Joe Biden in June, before the president dropped his reelection bid. The debate would be 90 minutes long, have no live studio audience, and the candidates would answer questions from the debate moderators.
CNN’s Dana Bash and Jake Tapper moderated the June debate between Biden and Trump.
Harris, in a post on X, said she will “gladly accept” a second debate. Trump, who counts his debate with Biden, said he will not agree to a third.
Trump and Harris took part in an ABC News debate earlier this month. Harris saw a polling bump after the debate. Trump claimed the moderators were biased and he declared on Truth Social afterwards that he will not take part in any further debates, something he reiterated at a Saturday rally in North Carolina.
Trump claimed Harris asking for another debate is proof she lost their event.
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, “I WANT A REMATCH.” Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate. She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. Everyone knows this, and all of the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe – It was discussed in great detail during the First Debate with Joe, and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris. She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!
