‘Stop This Madness!’ Joe Scarborough Rages at Trump Over Threats Against Bolton, Chris Christie

Joe Scarborough went off on President Donald Trump’s recent threats against former National Security Advisor John Bolton and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

In a scalding commentary on Monday’s Morning Joe, the host ripped Trump over a Sunday night Truth Social post in which the president railed against Christie over an ABC hit — and threatened to go after him over the 2013 “bridgegate” scandal.

“Can anyone believe anything Sloppy Chris says?” Trump wrote. He added “For the sake of JUSTICE, perhaps we should start looking at that very serious [bridgegate] situation again?”

That threat — coupled with Friday’s raid on John Bolton’s home and office — sparked a rant from Scarborough.

“You just sit and wonder,” Scarborough said. “The people that are sitting in the administration right now, making these moves, do they not understand that what goes around comes around? If they were so shocked and stunned and deeply saddened by what happened over the last four years, they’re doing it this four years. What do they think is going to happen when Democrats get back into power?! Do we really want this cycle to continue?!”

The Bulwark’s Sam Stein — appearing on Morning Joe Monday as a member of the first hour’s panel — posited that the Trump administration is operating as though it will never cede power.

“Well, do they think Democrats will get back into power?” Stein said. “I mean, that’s the question, right?”

Scarborough made clear he doesn’t believe we’ve seen the last of Democratic party rule in the United States.

“Democrats — let me just assure everybody right now — they will get back into power!” Scarborough said. “Our independents will get into power! And people that are doing this right now will leave office with a cloud over their head wondering what happens next! Now, let’s stop this madness!”
