Stunning Fox News Poll Shows Yuge Chunk of Voters Think God Personally Saved Trump From Assassination
A surprisingly large number of Americans — especially “MAGA Voters” — believe that God “intervened” to save President Donald Trump from an assassin’s bullet so that he could regain the presidency.
On Wednesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Special Report, Fox News anchor Bret Baier revealed the results of a new Fox News poll taken 100 days into Trump’s second term. The big news was Trump’s plummeting and historically-low approval:
BRET BAIER: If you look at our new Fox News poll at 100 days, job approval compared to other presidents.
There you see the president at 44% And you see his first term at 45% at this mark the 100 day mark.
We have other new polls that are revealing some concerns about the economy.
But another eye-catching number went unmentioned.
It has become a running theme among MAGA supporters that God saved Trump from being assassinated — a premise that Trump himself has embraced.
That mythology took on a vivid dimension this week when Trump hosted Evangelical leaders at the White House for an Easter prayer service and Pastor Jentezen Franklin told him, “God assigned an angel to stand between you and that bullet.”
Well, it turns out if you’re standing with two people, one of you also believes that — and if you’re standing in a crowd of MAGA voters it’s more than double that number:
One-third believe divine intervention helped secure Trump’s return to the White House. Thirty-two percent feel he was saved from two assassination attempts because God wanted him to be president again, including majorities of White evangelical Christians (56%), Republicans (60%), 2024 Trump supporters (62%), and MAGA supporters (70%).
Respondents to the poll were asked ” Do you believe divine intervention saved Donald Trump’s life from two assassination attempts because God wanted him to become president again?”
The least likely respondents to reply “yes” were people who voted for then-Vice President Kamala Harris, at seven percent.
