Trump Announces $200M White House Ballroom — And the Internet Is Breaking His Balls
The Trump administration has unveiled its plans for a brand-new, $200 million ballroom at the White House, and the internet is having a ball.
President Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt made the announcement on Thursday, saying that the addition to the White House will be funded by donors and Trump himself.
Leavitt showed artist renderings of the ballroom, which drew comparisons to Versailles. As of Friday morning, “Versailles” was still a trending topic on X.
Later Thursday, Trump later commented on his ballroom plans while flanked by pro-wrestling legend Triple H and other athletes, telling reporters, “In the first term, I said, ‘You know, if I get another shot at this, I’m gonna do a ballroom.’ I was pretty busy in the first [term] running the country and I was also fighting for survival with all of the lunatics I had to beat, but it worked out obviously very well because here were are. But I always said I was going to do something about the ballrooom because they should have one. It’ll be a great legacy project and I think it’d be special … I think it’ll be really beautiful.”
As usual, the internet did not disappoint, with several users making their feelings known, often with hilarious memes:
