‘What a Clown!’ Brian Kilmeade Lashes Out at Trump Judge For Getting Caught Off Guard By Camera

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade bitterly complained about a viral moment in which the judge in ex-President Donald Trump’s fraud trial was caught off guard by a pool camera and shot an awkward smile into the social mediashpere.

Trump was in court Monday for the first time since news broke last Tuesday that Judge Arthur Engoron of the Supreme Court 1st Judicial District in New York ruled that Trump and his company committed fraud in a major development in the civil case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

For a few moments before the hearing began, a pool camera showed the inside of the courtroom, including a shot of Judge Engoron in which he appears to be surprised by the camera and gives an awkward smile that went on to become a viral moment.

On Tuesday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends, Kilmeade took note of that moment — with extreme displeasure:

BRIAN KILMEADE: Let’s talk about what happened in downtown New York yesterday. The president, United States, former president, 98, who wants to be the next president, United States went downtown for day one of his civil trial. He’ll be there for day two, too. And he’s defending his company now. He knows the judge has already made pretrial determinations that basically he’s already committed fraud. But he was there. He gave his point of view. You watch the attorney general, Letitia James, sit on the, on court. But this smile is so unbelievable! And it just shows you what a carnival of a, what a joke this whole thing is! This judge thinks this is his moment of fame. He adjusts his hair. He takes off his glasses. Big smile on his face is going to be such an exciting day. I get to pretend! I get to be judge and jury over the next three months!

AINSLEY EARHARDT: Wants to ruin Donald Trump’s life! Wants to take away his businesses!

Yeah, that’s the– let the pool camera in. And that’s what the whole goal is, to take away everything that he has and find him $250 million. But Trump had this moment, which was key. He told his side of the story first! This is why it made so much sense for him to show up.

DONALD TRUMP: This is a continuation of the single greatest witch hunt of all time. And this is what we have. It’s a scam. It’s a sham. The banks got back their money again. There was never a default. There was never a problem. Everything was perfect. There was no crime. This judge is a politician. He comes out of the clubs. He’s running unopposed. The reason he’s unopposed is because he’s getting trouble.

STEVE DOOCY: Well, I tell you what. Toward the end of the first day after one of the witnesses was reviewing some records from 2011, the judge who we were just talking about right there, who posed with this, with his glasses off, the judge suggested that he, that guy right there, he was open to getting rid of some of–

BRIAN KILMEADE: What a clown!

STEVE DOOCY: Getting rid of some of the older transactions…

Kilmeade wasn’t the only one to take note of the moment, making the judge an unintentional social media sensation:
