White House Insiders Rip Netanyahu’s ‘Bizarre Obsession’ With the ‘Woke Right’: ‘Stop Talking About Tucker!’

White House insiders let loose their growing irritation over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “bizarre obsession” with critical voices on the “woke right” – like MAGA commentator Tucker Carlson – as he prepares to meet with President Donald Trump on Monday.
Netanyahu will visit the White House as the president pushes to finalize his 21-point Gaza peace plan. Trump has teased that an end to the war between Israel and Hamas is in its “final stages” with Arab nations in agreement on the plan.
Speaking to Axios, aides privately describe Monday’s meeting as a binary choice for Netanyahu: sign on or risk an unprecedented rupture with a president who has so far shielded him from blame.
“Everyone — and I mean everyone — is exasperated with Bibi,” said one administration official, who added that White House envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are “both are at their wits’ end with Israel.”
That cloud of irritation from Trump aides is also pointed at Netanyahu’s fixation on U.S. domestic discourse. At a Friday gathering on the sidelines of the United Nations, Netanyahu courted pro-Trump influencers, urging them to “fight” online for Israel.
“We have to fight with weapons that apply to the battlefield, and the most important ones are on social media,” he said, singling out X and TikTok. He then lashed out at what he called “the woke right — or the woke Reich,” dismissing them as “insane” and “lunatics.”
The remarks reignited tensions with Carlson, who has accused Netanyahu of boasting that “I control Donald Trump.” Netanyahu denied the claim during a Sunday appearance on Fox News.
Inside the White House, per Axios interviews, patience is wearing thin.
“We can’t figure out what the guy is up to. Focus on Israel. Focus on Gaza. Stop getting involved in U.S. domestic political issues,” one official told the outlet.
They continued: “Stop talking about Tucker. Stop getting influencers here to be your propaganda. It’s not helping you. It’s not helping Israel. And it damn sure isn’t helping us get a peace deal.”
