William Shatner Roasts Trump’s ‘Unserious’ Plan to Annex Canada on Fox News — Tells Jesse Watters Canada’s PM Should Push to Make U.S. a Province

One of Canada’s favorite sons visited Fox News Tuesday night to roast President Donald Trump’s proposal to annex Canada.

Appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime, Canadian-born actor William Shatner snarked about the Trump plan and called for Canada’s new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, to make a facetious counter proposal.

“Do a real estate deal!” Shatner said. “Make a counter offer! Let’s offer — Canada offer — to the United States to be the eleventh province! Think of the joy! … It’s the best thing!”

Fox News host Jesse Watters laughed at Shatner’s idea.

“He should have said that,” Watters said. “And that would have brought the house down.”

But the actor made clear that Trump’s plan is a complete non-starter.

“I mean, everybody so serious about what is an un-serious offer,” Shatner said. “Canada’s been around for a hundred fifty years!”

Watters pushed back and tried to go to bat for the Trump proposal.

“Isn’t it about persistence?” Watters asked. “Carney says, it’s not for sale. Trump says never say never.”

“At a certain point, persistence becomes insulting!” Shatner said.
