A Laughing Biden Says Choosing Between Pope, Trump ‘Not a Hard Call’
Rachel Maddow interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, a Catholic, on MSNBC tonight and asked him about the feud between Donald Trump and the Pope that took off all over the news today.
The Pope suggested someone who believes like Trump does may not be Christian, and Trump didn’t care for that.
Biden said, as he laughed, “Pope Francis, Trump, it’s not a hard call for me. Not even close.”
The veep went on to say that “building walls is fundamentally contrary to what made this country what it is,” and if we build a wall, like Trump wants, it “makes a lie of everything we say about ourselves.”
Maddow also asked Biden if he thinks Trump could be the Republican nominee. Biden said yes, explaining, “I would take him seriously in terms of being able to win, because… he’s appealing to fear.”
