Beckel Battles Co-Hosts over Which Party Attacks More: GOP ‘a Bunch of Thugs!’

Which side gets nastier with the political attacks? Democrats or Republicans?

This was the issue Bob Beckel fought his co-hosts on The Five Monday over, with Beckel laughing at their outrage over Democratic attacks on Republicans when Republicans have been equally, if not more, harsh in their attacks on Democrats. Beckel mocked the idea Republicans are “the bright shining people on the hill,” saying, “These dogs have been running negative crap for years!”

Beckel pointed to Republican attacks on Democrats as being socialists or communists. He said, “Let’s have an agreement here. You drop the word socialist, and I’ll drop the word racist.” Eric Bolling shot back that calling President Obama a socialist isn’t a smear, it’s accurate.

Beckel ranted for a bit about a Republican PAC called Boats ‘N Hoes (a real thing, surprisingly) before crying, “Don’t think this Republican party is such dainty little nice people! They’re a bunch of thugs!”

Greg Gutfeld said, “I wish the Republican party was as bad as you guys, ‘cause you guys clean our clocks.” He argued that calling someone a socialist can be at least a real political issue to debate, but “when you are called a racist or homophobe, that actually ends debate.”
