Biden Slams Trump’s ‘Dangerous’ Rhetoric: ‘What Person Has Ever Said Anything Like This Stuff?’

President Joe Biden slammed Donald Trump over the former president’s promise to be his supporters’ “retribution.”

CNN’s Erin Burnett spoke with Biden in Wisconsin for an interview that aired on Wednesday’s OutFront. The host cited remarks Trump made about whether he would accept the results of the election.

“If everything’s honest, I’d gladly accept the results of the election,” Trump said. “If it’s not, you have to fight for the right of the country.”

Burnett asked Biden, “How seriously do you take that threat?”

“Seriously,” he replied. “The guy is not a democrat with a small ‘d.’ I mean, he is a– the idea, look, you can’t only love your country when you win.”

Biden pointed to Trump’s numerous failed legal challenges to the 2020 election results, which Trump falsely claims were fraudulent. In the weeks after the contest, he attempted to overturn the election in several swing states that he lost. Ultimately, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol and tried to end the republic.

“Saying whether he may not accept the outcome of the election?” the president continued. “I promise you, he won’t… which is dangerous.”

The president then noted Trump’s comments stating that his Department of Justice will prosecute his political rivals and that the former president told supporters at a rally in Texas, “I am your retribution.”

“What person has ever said anything like this stuff?” Biden asked Burnett. “But he means it.”

Trump is under criminal indictment in four jurisdictions, two of which are federal cases. The former president has portrayed the prosecutions as politically motivated and falsely claimed they are the handiwork of Biden.
