Chris Cuomo Asks Trump Lawyer Why the President’s Surrogates ‘Keep Using Fox News’ If Murdoch Is Now the Enemy

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo asked President Donald Trump’s lawyer on Tuesday why Trump’s surrogates and allies “keep using Fox News” if founder Rupert Murdoch – who Trump is currently suing – is so “inimical to the cause.”

During an interview with Trump lawyer Alejandro Brito on NewsNation’s Cuomo, Cuomo asked, “All right, so help me. I can’t believe it. This guy’s his friend, he’s been with him through thick or thin. Fox News has been fundamental to President Trump as a citizen and as a politician. How does he sue his own buddy?”

“The reason for that, Chris, is the way that this played out,” replied Brito, who complained that the Wall Street Journal did not show Trump the 2003 birthday letter he allegedly sent to the late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Cuomo declared, “This is his boy, counsel! This is his buddy! Fox News is fundamental to the president’s success. How does he go against his guy?”

“If he’s his buddy, his buddy’s not really treating him all that fairly or ethically or responsibly by disseminating this card and allowing this article to be written despite the fact that President Trump, myself communicated with the Wall Street Journal in advance of the article being published,” protested Brito. “I don’t consider that to be too much of a buddy that does that to the president.”

Cuomo went on to ask Brito why Trump’s surrogates and allies were still appearing on Fox News if Murdoch had really upset the president that much.

“Why doesn’t Trump pull all his people from Fox and not have them go on there anymore and not have them cooperate with the Journal or any other News Corp entity and have them find other places to go instead of parking on Fox every day?” the NewsNation host questioned. “If the guy’s so inimical to the cause, if it’s such reckless disregard, why do you keep using Fox News?”

“Well, I’m here with you, Chris, not with Fox,” concluded Brito. “I can’t speak for the president as it relates to anyone beyond me, but I will tell you that we are here to try to explain to you and your viewers why we brought this case and why we believe that it was meritorious to do so.”
