Christie Says Good Riddance to Letterman’s Fat Jokes, Hello Colbert
Perhaps inspired by Stephen Colbert’s appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) finally weighed in on the passing of the late night torch on Twitter Wednesday morning:
Oh @letterman, I’m really gonna miss your fat jokes. Wait, no I’m not. #ColbertNation pic.twitter.com/oRZIhMg7ig

Of all the late night hosts, Letterman has probably been the harshest on Christie, playing footage of him with “fat guy music” and at one point actually challenging one of his writers to come up with some non-fat jokes about the governor. When Christie made his Late Show debut last year, he joined in on the fun, pulling out a donut and eating it mid-interview with Letterman.

Colbert, on the other hand, has definitely delivered fewer fat jokes about Christie, but he’s gone after him just as hard on substantive issues like “Bridgegate” as you can see in the clip below from early January.
