Colbert Commends ‘Dumbass’ Eric Bolling’s Earth Day Opposition

Stephen Colbert took a brief moment to acknowledge Earth Day on his show Tuesday night, joining pundits from Fox News in celebrating the news that corn-based ethanol biofuel may actually be worse for the environment than regular gasoline. Just like Eric Bolling, Stuart Varney and Lou Dobbs, Colbert thought this new development was downright hilarious.

“Trying to help is pointless,” Colbert said through laughter. “This study is the final nail in green energy’s biodegradable coffin,” he added, saying next we’re likely to find out that solar panels are made from the gleam of baby seals’ eyes.

Now that we know the truth, Colbert said we should all celebrate Earth Day like Fox’s Bolling, who announced on The Five that his annual tradition involves opening all the windows in his home and blasting either the heat or the A/C. “Way to stick to the greenies, Eric,” Colbert said. “Man, I would hate to be the dumbass who has to pay this guy’s utility bills.”
