Dem Sen. McCaskill: IRS Head Did ‘Terrible Job of Being Arrogant’ at Hearing
Last night IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified before a House committee on Lois Lerner‘s missing emails, and got quite a mouthful from House Republicans. But Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill said on Morning Joe today that Koskinen did himself and the IRS no favors by coming across as arrogant.
McCaskill acknowledged Koskinen’s “doing a terrible job communicating,” but maintained that whatever “conspiracy” Republicans have concocted this time is based in absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Joe Scarborough pushed back a bit on how suspicious it looks for tons of IRS e-mails to suddenly go missing.
McCaskill did say it looks bad and said of Koskinen, “This guy did a terrible job being arrogant yesterday. We all think of the IRS as arrogant anyway, and he kind of confirmed that.”
