Fox Host Asks House Republican Who Suggested Nuking Gaza If He’s ‘Comfortable’ Working Alongside Ilhan Omar
Fox Business host Stuart Varney interviewed Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) on Friday and kicked off the interview by asking him about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who angered the right on Thursday by walking away from a reporter asking for a statement about the shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, DC.
Fine made headlines on Thursday when he told Fox News, “In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we didn’t negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here.”
“Randy Fine joins me now. Congressman, you are one of three Jewish Republicans in the House. Are you comfortable working alongside Ilhan Omar?” Varney began.
“Well, look, I stay as far away from her as I can. Ilhan Omar is not pro-America. And frankly, she endorses and supports Muslim terror. So I think that what happened a couple of nights ago for her is probably considered a good thing, not a bad one,” Fine said, adding:
And it’s very troubling that the radical left created this. Look, these protests are directly tied to what we’ve heard on college campuses. When they talk about globalizing the Intifada, resistance by all means necessary, and that shows up in the manifesto from this shooter, that’s where this stuff comes from. And it comes from Ilhan Omar, college campuses and everywhere else.
Notably, Omar did condemn the deadly shooting of the two young staffers, writing on X, “I am appalled by the deadly shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum last night. Holding the victims, their families, and loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. Violence should have no place in our country.”
“But how can the Democrats have anti-Semites in their party?” Varney followed up.
“Well, I don’t know. I mean, I ask that question to my Jewish friends who are Democrats. I don’t understand. But unfortunately, the progressive left has embraced Muslim terror. And frankly, some of them, even now on social media, are trying to explain why these shootings were okay. The fact of the matter is the Palestinian cause is evil. And you see it in how they behave here. It is predicated on lies, mistruths. And then you end up, again, globalized the Intifada. Well, they globalized it in Washington DC a couple of days ago,” replied Fine.
“Now, Congressman, Harvard is suing the administration over their plan to halt the enrollment of foreign students. Listen to what DHS Secretary Kristi Noem had to say about this ban,” Varney continued before playing a clip of Noem on Fox Thursday:
Harvard brought these consequences upon themselves. Harvard has a history of allowing not just protests, but violent protests where students were assaulted, they were discriminated against, they were verbally abused, and they’ve even facilitated a training for a paramilitary group affiliated with the CCP. So it’s not just pro-Hamas activities that they have allowed to happen on their campus. They’ve also allowed participation with Communist China.
“You’re on the House Education and Workforce Committee. What do you make of this move against Harvard?” asked Varney.
“Well, I also went to Harvard, and I can tell you, 35 years ago when I was there, you saw a lot of this stuff, but I never felt unsafe as a Jewish student being there. That’s what’s different today, and if I were to make any encouragement to President Trump and Secretary Noem, it would be, do this everywhere,” Fine replied, adding:
We should not be bringing people into America to get an education who hate us. They should be coming here to get an education, and frankly, they should keep their mouths shut beyond that. I don’t go into someone else’s house and complain about it when I’m there. They’re guests in our country and they should realize that and there’s a real problem with folks not understanding that.
