Fox Host: Wall Street Will Vote Hillary Because They Think Warren Is ‘The Devil’
According to Fox Business Network host Melissa Francis, the odds that Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) could ever defeat Hillary Clinton in a Democratic primary are slim for one big reason: Wall Street.
Appearing Tuesday on Fox’s Outnumbered, Francis relayed that large financial institutions and corporations would rally behind former Secretary of State Clinton rather than face “the devil” in a populist Democrat like Warren.
“I can tell you from talking to people in the financial industry, in banking, on Wall Street, they think she is actually the devil,” the business reporter said. “I mean, without question, Elizabeth Warren is the devil. So they’re going to put any money they have behind Hillary Clinton, which should be a help.”
Warren’s crusade against Wall Street came back into the spotlight this month after she delivered an impassioned speech against a provision of the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that would defang portions of the Dodd-Frank financial law.
Those comments came after a fortnight in which Warren dominated headlines for railing against a provision in a $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that rolled back aspects of Dodd-Frank. She also bashed CitiGroup in a speech on Friday. She was first elected to office in 2012 largely by railing against “marauding banks.”
