Fox News Anchor Accuses Jewish Democrats of Working ‘Against the Interests’ of Their ‘Own People’

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner accused Jewish members of Congress of working “against the interests” of their “own people” by supporting New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

On Monday’s episode of Outnumbered, the panel discussed Mamdani’s shocking win in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary. More specifically, they touched on the accusations from some that Mamdani’s criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic.

Fox contributor Marie Harf pushed back on those accusations — citing the support Mamdani has received by prominent New Yorkers like Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and city Comptroller Brad Lander. In what quickly spiraled into a contentious back-and-forth, Faulkner ultimately questioned Nadler and Lander’s commitment to the Jewish faith, while also accusing Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) of working “against the interests of his own people”:

HARF: Here’s why I think this is an interesting look into his campaign. He was unknown as of six months or a year ago, right? He is a new candidate who has tapped into energy and concerns about cost of living, things that you mentioned. He has repeatedly said he abhors anti-Semitism. Increasing anti-hate crime funding by 800%, that’s real. That will help in New York. And don’t take my word for it. Prominent Jewish New Yorkers Jerry Nadler, Brad Lander, they have endorsed him–

FAULKNER: You’re talking politicians who want their party to be in office–

HARF: But they’re Jewish politicians.

FAULKNER: Irrespective of anything that they believe it!

HARF: That’s not true. Are you questioning Jerry Nadler or Brad Landers’ commitment to Judaism?

FAULKNER: A hundred percent! A hundred percent, yes!

HRF: Wow, I wouldn’t question anyone’s commitment to their faith.

FAULKNER: The same way that I would question Chuck Schumer, who works against the interests of his own people at times for the politics; and that’s what they’re doing here.

HARF: Let me finish what I’m saying here. Prominent Jewish New Yorkers have said they have met with him. They believe that he abhors anti-Semitism and will help New York do better.

FAULKNER: Then why not condemn a globalized intifada?

HARF: I think that he should be more sensitive to the context in which many people hear that language, and I think he should condemn it; but I think that painting him with a brush that because he won’t, because he’s “word-smithing,” because he doesn’t want to censor, that everything else he’s said about about condemning anti-Semitism

FAULKNER: Do you read his X?

HARF: Jewish leaders saying he is good for their community, Harris–

FAULKNER: Not everybody.

HARF: No, but a lot. I think that matters, too; and I don’t think he’s an anti-Semite.
