Fox News’ Chris Stirewalt Piles on ‘Train Wreck’ Roseanne: Her Whole Public Persona is ‘Being Awful’

Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt held nothing back against Roseanne Barr over her racist tweet that led to ABC canceling her hit show.

Stirewalt began by explaining how President Trump and his supporters were “so excited” that Roseanne as well as her character on television was “embracing him” and that the show was “so popular.”

“It was evidence that their movement was succeeding and that these blue-collar working-class white voters who felt overlooked and neglected by the system, that they had a voice and that there was cultural change happening and they ate it by the bushel barrel. They were into it,” Stirewalt told Shannon Bream. “And then, of course, they were reminded of something. Roseanne Barr has been a train wreck since she was- that is her whole public persona. The whole point of Roseanne Barr is being awful and shocking people.

He then knocked Roseanne for pushing “gross conspiracy theories” and whether she was “unwell” when she made the tweet.

Stirewalt finished by offering a bit of advice.

“Don’t embrace somebody just because they join your team,” Stirewalt continued. “I watched a bunch of Republicans who probably had never even heard the first three tracks on College Dropout suddenly say ‘Kanye West is great, we love Kanye West!’ Slow down. You can make up your own mind about who you like and who you don’t like as an artist, as an entertainer, as a creative force. Don’t let politics make you too stupid.”
