Fox News Panelists Burst Out Laughing After Democrat Says He Hopes to Be in Biden’s Shape When He’s 81

Two Fox News panelists burst into laughter on Tuesday after a Democrat guest said he hoped to be in President Joe Biden’s “shape both mentally and physically” when he is 81.

The moment happened during a panel discussion on Fox News’ The Story with Martha MacCallum, which included former George W. Bush speechwriter Mark Thiessen, radio host Ben Ferguson, and former Hillary Clinton senior adviser Philippe Reines.

Asked by host Martha MacCallum about the growing concerns over Biden’s age and his ability to serve a second term in the White House, Reines said, “I’m going to start out with some common ground among the three of us, which is that probably none of us think that the New York Timescoverage about politics or presidential politics is any good.”

He continued:

Look, I do think that there is a problem in the way that this is being covered. But separate from a media issue, the truth of the matter is we elected Donald Trump– not we. Donald Trump was elected in 2016, Joe Biden was elected in 2020, they were both at the time of their inauguration the oldest people to hold the office. I don’t know why it’s any surprise to anyone that they are four years older or eight years older than they were at that time. In terms of their cognitive ability, look, I’m not a doctor, but I would say this. Just based on observation, it’s impossible to make an observation about Joe Biden only that you can’t apply to Donald Trump.

Reines concluded, “So, to the extent that there’s anything – and I don’t think that there is anything wrong with Joe Biden – I hope when I’m 81, I’m in his shape both mentally and physically.”

Thiessen and Ferguson then both burst into laughter.
