Fox’s Kurtz Swipes at Colbert: ‘Even Fake Anchors Should Have Standards’

Stephen Colbert really hit a nerve.

The comedian mocked Howard Kurtz’s report on “growing concerns” over Hillary Clinton’s age the other day, earning a rebuke from Kurtz last Friday. But the Media Buzz host wasn’t done. On his own show Sunday morning, Kurtz fired back at Colbert for mischaracterizing his report.

“Listen, Colbert: I asked whether it was fair for commentators to harp on her age,” Kurtz said. “I guess that was too nuanced for your black and white view of the world…And what about the fact that I was quoting Charlie Cook, the columnist? That didn’t fit your comedic narrative, did it?”

“Even fake anchors should have standards,” Kurtz continued. “You, sir, were not even truthy.”

Kurtz ended by suggesting Colbert invite him onto his show.
