Fox News Guest Suggests Jimmy Kimmel Must Have Blackmailed ABC Execs With ‘Tapes’
Federalist CEO and co-founder Sean Davis suggested Jimmy Kimmel must have decent “blackmail” against ABC and Disney executives to land back on TV on Fox News Tuesday night, causing host Greg Gutfeld to joke that’s the reason he’s till at Fox.
Davis was one of the guests on Tuesday’s Gutfeld! just as Kimmel was let back on air after ABC indefinitely suspended his show following comments related to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said at the time.
The comedian and frequent critic of President Donald Trump was referring to 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, now facing a murder charge over Kirk’s death. According to Utah officials, Robinson was “indoctrinated” in far-left “ideology” in the years leading up to Kirk’s death. Broadcast groups Sinclair and Nexstar are continuing to protest Kimmel’s show over the comment.
“What do you see? I hate to say are there winners and losers in this particular thing, what do you what do you make of this?” Gutfeld asked Davis about the Kimmel situation.
Davis accused Kimmel of coasting off of the success of his former Man Show partner Adam Carolla, a far more conservative voice in comedy.
Davis argued:
Jimmy Kimmel’s definitely a loser, but let’s give him credit. For a man who’s not particularly funny, he’s hard to look at, he’s not very talented, he’s a poor writer, he has drafted his entire career behind Adam Carolla, what the man is apparently gifted at is blackmail because I don’t know what he has on the ABC and Disney execs. The fact that they brought him back after slandering a true Christian martyr, really the first martyr that we saw in this country since MLK, the fact that they brought him back, it’s inexplicable beyond — he’s just gotta have photos or tapes somewhere of somebody doing something.
“Yeah,” Gutfeld responded. “Well, that’s why I’m here at Fox. Anything happens to me, ho, ho, ho, I’m mailing that DVD.”
Gutfeld previously offered plenty of criticism of Kimmel over his Kirk comment, but also argued Kirk would likely want Kimmel back on the air.
“I do think Jimmy should be back on the air, at least to explain himself, even though he and all the other pieces of s**t spent years putting targets on our backs,” he said. “But maybe that’s what Charlie Kirk would want. I mean, he did platform his haters. There’s probably no stronger position in the world and it cost him his life, but it changed the world.”
