Greta Reports Ryan Campaign Has ‘No Concerns’ Over ABC’s Raddatz Moderating VP Debate

Much of the conservative blogosphere has been up in arms over the news that the moderator for tomorrow night’s vice presidential debate, ABC reporter Martha Raddatz, hosted President Barack Obama at her wedding to ex-husband Julius Genachowski in 1991.

Many conservatives allege that such a connection means Raddatz is biased in favor of the Obama campaign and therefore cannot legitimately claim the neutrality of a debate moderator.

However, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren reported this afternoon that GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan‘s own camp has no issue with Raddatz as moderater.

Saying that “this should END any complaints,” Van Susteren quoted an internal email from Fox’s White House producer Joy Lin who spoke directly with a Ryan spokesman:

By now you have probably seen reports that President Obama attended the wedding of Martha Raddatz to Julius Genachowski in 1991 (they since divorced, ABC issued a statement defending Raddatz against questions regarding her ability to handle the debate in a balanced way)—

Asked whether the Ryan campaign has any concerns regarding conflict-of-interest or Raddatz’s impartiality, spokesman Michael Steel replied, “No concerns.”
