Gutfeld Accuses New York Times of ‘Deliberately’ Suppressing Its Own Hunter Biden Story ‘Until Hurting Joe No Longer Mattered’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld ripped The New York Times Friday night over their recent reporting that Hunter Biden attempted to have a U.S. government official help him make a deal while he sat on the board of a Ukrainian energy company during his father’s time as Vice President of the United States.

On the most recent edition of Gutfeld! on Fox News, the host suggested the story was deliberately “suppressed” by the Times for years, saying the paper only finally reported it this week because President Joe Biden is no longer the Democratic contender or a political force on the left.

On Tuesday, the newspaper reported Hunter sought help while sitting on the board of Burisma in 2016 with a project in Italy, citing documents provided by the State Department. The Times reported:

Hunter Biden sought assistance from the U.S. government for a potentially lucrative energy project in Italy while his father was vice president, according to newly released records and interviews. The records, which the Biden administration had withheld for years, indicate that Hunter Biden wrote at least one letter to the U.S. ambassador to Italy in 2016 seeking assistance for the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, where he was a board member.

A White House spokesman said the president was not aware when he was vice president that his son was reaching out to the U.S. Embassy in Italy on behalf of Burisma.

On his eponymous nightly show Friday, Gutfeld claimed the report from the Times is evidence the media has colluded for years to protect Joe Biden but now is reporting on his son’s scandals because he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race last month.

“Meanwhile, the Times is finally getting around to the Hunter Biden Bursima scandal,” Gutfeld said of the report. “Apparently, he sought help from the U.S. Government for the Ukrainian gas company whose board he served on all the while his dad was VP. Hunter reportedly asked the U.S. Ambassador to Italy to help out Burisma.”

“But it’s funny how this is all just coming out now,” Gutfeld continued. “It seems like this news was deliberately hidden during Trump’s impeachment and then suppressed until hurting Joe no longer mattered. But to believe that you have to believe the media has an agenda, and what are the odds of that?”

Despite Gutfeld’s claim the Times “suppressed” coverage of Hunter Biden, the newspaper reported it had worked for more than three years — and even sued the State Department — to obtain the documents its story was based on:

The request was initially filed under the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, in June 2021. After nearly eight months, the State Department had not released any records, and The Times sued. About 18 months later, the department moved to close the case after releasing thousands of pages of records — none of which shed light on Hunter Biden’s outreach to the U.S. government.

Gutfeld likened the president to a “third wheel” at a party who is unaware he is no longer wanted. He claimed Biden had been being pushed out of power by Democrats for some time but that he did not recognize it because “someone who lost their mind doesn’t know that they lost it.”

He concluded, “It’s on everyone else, including Kamala, for claiming he was sharp as a tack – putting our country in jeopardy. Do you think the media will ever confront her on that scandal?”

Meanwhile, The times is finally getting around to the Hunter Biden-Burisma scandal. You remember Hunter. He’s the Biden that doesn’t draw flies. Apparently, he sought help from the U.S. government for the Ukrainian gas company, whose board he served on, all while his dad was VP. Hunter reportedly asked the US ambassador to Italy to help out Burisma. I haven’t seen optics that bad since I had to stand next to Jesse Waters at the urinal.

But it’s funny how this is all just coming out now. Seems like this news was deliberately hidden during Trump’s impeachment and then suppressed until hurting Joe no longer mattered. But to believe that, you’d have to believe that the media has an agenda, and what are the odds of that?

So it seems Joe has become the third wheel. You know what I mean? When you your best friend in a girl or hang it out, you get the vibe that they want you to leave, but they’re not going to come out and say it. They just hope you take the hint. Like when they start making out and they expect you to move off the couch between them. The hints were there for Joe, he just couldn’t see them because someone who lost their mind doesn’t know they lost it. It’s on everyone else, including Kamala, for claiming he was sharp as a tack, putting our country in jeopardy.

Do you think the media will ever confront her on that scandal, as they now say the same thing about her? Of course not, because that would help Trump. See, right now it’s all about joy and nothing about the truth.
