Hewitt Hits Hillary’s ISIS Claim: ‘She Lied Again,’ ‘She Invented a Second Video Narrative’
Conservative talk radio show host Hugh Hewitt tore into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton after she claimed during the debate Saturday night that ISIS was using video of Donald Trump to recruit, an allegation that fact-checkers say simply isn’t true.
“Chris, there’s only one take: Hillary Clinton lied,” Hewitt told CNN New Day host Chris Cuomo. “She lied again, she invented a second video narrative which has nothing to do with the truth. She’s been fact checked on this claim by The Washington Post and The New York Times.”
“Hillary Clinton compulsively lied in a situation where it was not necessary…” he argued. “This was a completely unforced, unnecessary launch into falsehood. There is no video, no video exists.”
“The leading Democrat, the presumptive Democratic nominee ought not to be lying about what [ISIS is] doing. That shows she does not have the capacity to stay briefed, to stay focused, to be prepared,” Hewitt continued. “I say it again, I hate to say this because it’s blunt; she is a liar. That video does not exist, and she owes Donald Trump an apology.”
