‘I Know You Want to Change the Subject’: Jake Tapper Confronts Jay Sekulow on Don Jr. Meeting

CNN’s Jake Tapper faced off again with Jay Sekulow, a member of President Trump‘s legal team, over Donald Trump Jr.‘s meeting with the Russian lawyer, even calling him out at one point for “changing the subject.”

Tapper pressed Sekulow on whether, aside from the legal question, Trump Jr.’s meeting was just “wrong.” Sekulow didn’t comment on that and brought up the question of whether there was collusion between Ukraine and the Democrats.

Tapper said that he’d be happy to discuss it when there’s an investigation into the matter, but “that’s not what’s going on right now.” Sekulow remarked upon the fact that there isn’t an investigation going on as particularly noteworthy.

When he brought it up again a few minutes later, Tapper said “I know you want to change the subject” and asked him, “What other meetings or communications with Russians have not been disclosed yet?”

Sekulow responded, “None that I know of, but I represent the President of the United States.”
