In Final Night On CNN’s In The Arena, Eliot Spitzer Beats MSNBC’s Last Word

Cable news ratings, July 6, 2011:

•On the night CNN announced the cancellation of In the Arena–and host Eliot Spitzer signed off from the program–Spitzer claimed a victory over MSNBC’s Last Word, averaging 204,000 viewers 25-54 compared to MSNBC’s 187,000. Host Lawrence O’Donnell was off, with Chris Hayes filling in. Fox’s Bill O’Reilly won the hour, followed by HLN’s Nancy Grace.

•Overall, HLN finished first for the day and in primetime among viewers 25-54, with several programs attracting notably large audiences, including Dr. Drew, with 735,000 viewers at 9 p.m. for a first-place finish.
