James Carville Praises Rupert Murdoch on Fox News: ‘Guy’s Got More Guts Than the Entire Democratic Party Put Together’

Democratic strategist James Carville gave props to an unlikely figure on Thursday: Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal, which is owned by News Corp – another Murdoch property – published a report detailing a birthday letter President Donald Trump sent to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. The letter contained a drawing of a nude woman and an imaginary dialogue between the two men. Epstein was later revealed to be a child sex trafficker. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for trafficking. During her legal troubles, Trump wished her well.

Trump reportedly made a personal appeal to the editor-in-chief of the Journal in a vain attempt to get the story spiked. The president, who denies the report, is suing the publication.

Carville appeared on Thursday’s Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News, where he called out the network over its relative lack of coverage of the Epstein story. But the Democratic operative also had words of praise for Murdoch. Carville contrasted Murdoch with Columbia University, which has repeatedly folded like a lawn chair when threatened by the Trump administration. Carville also invoked Paramount, which on Thursday was rewarded by Trump’s Federal Communications Commission with the approval of its merger with Skydance after Paramount shelled out millions to settle a ludicrous lawsuit by the president and canceled CBS’s The Late Show, hosted by Trump critic Stephen Colbert.

“You were talking about Paramount and how they collapsed,” Carville told host Jesse Watters. “The biggest cavers in the world is Columbia University. They’re trying to reinstate their glory days of the Dunning School. I’ve never seen such cowards in my life. My hat’s off to Harvard. At least they have guts. I might wear their sweatshirt on TV one day.”

Moments later, Carville pivoted to Murdoch.

“I know that you guys make a lot of money,” he said. “And Rupert Murdoch, he’s my new hero. Man, this guy’s got more guts than the entire Democratic Party put together. Go Rupert. Go, cat, go.”

“Let’s hope we keep the money,” Watters responded.
