Joe Scarborough Brutally Mocks ‘Masculinity’ of Supposed ‘Tough Guy’ Pro-Trump Politicians

Joe Scarborough and Donny Deutsch tag-teamed in relentless ridicule of elected Republican officials who appeared on Sunday morning political shows and preemptively questioned the 2024 election result.

At issue is an Axios report that opens: “Republicans are increasingly joining former President Trump on hedging or dodging when asked whether they’ll accept the results of the 2024 elections.” The simple posts list the comments of half a dozen Republican members of Congress publicly stating that they will only accept results if they are free and fair.

After calling that framing subjective, Scarborough said, “There is no need to engage in hyperbole. The peaceful transition of power has been the guarantor of American democracy and Western democracy for centuries, where the loser accepts the results.”

Scarborough then distinguished the 2024 election from the past election, saying, “It’s a vote, actually, for somebody that does not subscribe to the most basic precepts of American democracy against a candidate who does. And it’s really that simple.” Deutsch then agreed, adding, “Anyone who votes Republican doesn’t understand he’s voting for the end of democracy.”

This led to a brutal level of mockery of the male Republican politicians who, in the eyes of the Morning Joe crew, have shown craven obsequiousness to Trump to the degree of degrading their “masculinity.”

Scarborough:  These are the guys that talk about total war on masculinity, right? They take guys. And as I’ve always said about the war on masculinity, I get it. If you’re a real man, you don’t really notice that people are trying to declare a war on masculinity. You just go out and you do what you’re supposed to do and you tune out the noise. And yet these guys that play tough guys and and want, you know, like what they want the world to be more manly and they’re, well, they’re the least masculine men. They are. They’re the guys that went to Ivy League colleges and won’t defend their father’s honor. They won’t defend their wives’ honor. They will allow Donald Trump to say the worst, most humiliating things about them constantly. How do I say it politely?

Deutsch: You just don’t use the word. Don’t use the word, Joe. Don’t do it. I used it once in a lot of trouble. Don’t do it.

Scarborough: Yeah, they they they they just I well, I can’t say it. They they just he undermines so many, humiliates them and, and they just come back for more. And they’re the ones writing books about manhood. Oh, give me a freaking break. It is on.

Deutsch: Yeah, I just can’t understand. I don’t know if these guys had their lunch money taken growing up. I don’t know what it is. I keep thinking about Josh Hawley prancing across, the Capitol during the siege there. But these are, you know, the irony. And you bring it up.
