‘Kayleigh, Come On’: Fox’s Tarlov Calls Out Co-Host for Claiming Trump ‘Was Genuinely Concerned’ When Joking About Pelosi Hammer Attack

Jessica Tarlov expressed disbelief at co-host Kayleigh McEnany, who insisted that a coarse joke President Donald Trump made about the hammer attack on Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s husband was actually a show of genuine concern.

On Thursday, Pelosi announced that she will not seek reelection next year. The 85-year-old has served in the House since 1987.

Hours later on The Five on Fox News, McEnany rattled off several Pelosi moments that she found offensive.

“I looked up some things that she has said,” McEnany stated. “First, we all remember the State of the Union 2020 when she ripped it. She ripped the State of the Union. That was after, by the way, in that State of the Union, they honored at Tuskegee Airmen. They brought home a loved one from overseas who got to reunite with his wife and his family. She ripped it up. Then there was that time she called Trump ‘the domestic enemy sitting in the White House.'”

Pelosi had called Trump a “domestic enemy” in the hours after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

McEnany also objected to remarks from Pelosi just this week, in which the former speaker deemed Trump a “vile creature” and the “worst thing on the face of the Earth.”

“And then the stunner: ‘a ‘vile creature,’ she called Trump,” McEnany continued. “‘The worst thing on planet Earth.’ She was not an instrument of peace. She was an instrument of division. And now, she gets to exit stage left.”

“Can I say something quickly?” Tarlov interjected before pointing to a joke Trump made about Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, who in 2022 was attacked at their home by a hammer-wielding assailant. Paul Pelosi spent several days in the hospital and required surgery. Some Republicans at the time peddled conspiracy theories claiming that the attacker was his gay lover.

“September 2023,” Tarlov continued, teeing up a verbatim quote from Trump at the 2023 California Republican Convention. “Donald Trump, rallying the crowd. ‘We’ll stand up to crazy Nancy Pelosi, who ruined San Francisco. ‘How’s her husband doing? Anybody know?'”

“He was genuinely concerned, Jessica,” McEnany insisted.

“Kayleigh, come on,” Tarlov replied in disbelief.

“Did he call her ‘the worst thing on planet Earth?'” McEnany responded.

“Her husband was attacked and got a hammer to the head,” Tarlov said. “[Donald Trump] Jr. posts underwear and a hammer for a good Halloween costume, and Donald Trump running to be the commander in chief again.”

Co-host Jesse Watters interrrupted to note that Charlie Kirk was assassinated.

After Nancy Pelosi announced her retirement on Thursday, Trump called her “evil” and “corrupt.”
