Kimmel Roasts Palin Over Climate Change Denial: 97% of Scientists Aren’t Just ‘F*cking With You’

Jimmy Kimmel raked Sarah Palin across the coals last night for her backing of a documentary about climate change denial despite the major consensus among the scientific community.

The former governor of Alaska raised eyebrows recently due to rumors that she would face off against global-warming believer Bill Nye as part of her support for the film Climate Hustle. While these whisperings were confirmed to be only rumors, Palin has continued to spout her belief that mankind’s acceleration of climate change is a hoax, and that Nye is “as much a scientist as I am.”

Palin: “It’s perpetuated and repeated so often that too many people believe that, ‘Oh, well, if 97 percent of all scientists believe that man’s activities are creating changes in the weather, who am I to question that?’”

Kimmel: “Exactly. Who are you to question that? The idea that she knows more than 97 percent of scientists is offensive and dangerous… No matter what Sarah Palin and these geniuses she surrounds herself with try to tell you, climate change is not a liberal-versus-conservative thing.”

Kimmel went on to point out that scientists continue to find more and more evidence that climate change is real, while political factions do all the debating over whether humans are responsible.

“There’s no debate about the greenhouse effect, just like there’s no debate about gravity,” Kimmel said. “It someone throws a piano off the roof, I don’t care what Sarah Palin tells you, get out of the way. It’s coming down on your head.”

Eventually, Kimmel said the matter came down to whether or not politicians choose to believe in science. He finished things off by bringing in a group of climatologists and environmental experts to help assure climate change deniers that they are not “f*cking with you” by pushing a “left-wing conspiracy.”
