Obama Gets Fiery at CBC Dinner: ‘I Will Consider It a Personal Insult’ If You Don’t Vote!

President Obama gave a very impassioned speech at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Dinner last night, outright mocking Donald Trump and declaring it would be a “personal insult” to him if the black community does not come out to vote in the election.

He started out his speech by joking that he’s “relived that the whole birther thing is over” before his term is up, dryly saying, “In other breaking news, the world is round, not flat.”

The president did not refer to Trump by name, but found it amusing for him to say it’s never been worse to be black in America.

“He missed that whole civics lesson about slavery and Jim Crow,” Obama said, “but we got a museum for him to visit, so he can tune in. We will educate him.”

But when the subject got around to voting, that’s when he got legitimately fired up, talking about the “national scandal” of people trying to put additional barriers on the voting process.

Obama really went off on the idea that there are voters who are apathetic about the choice in November––”hope is on the ballot, and fear is on the ballot too”––and he actually said this:

“I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy, if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election! You wanna give me a good sendoff? Go vote!”
