Paul Goes After Rubio: You Have More an Allegiance to the Left Than to Conservatives

rubio paulRand Paul attacked Marco Rubio on surveillance and immigration tonight, accusing him of being more allied to the left than the right on foreign policy.

Paul said Rubio has rejected stricter, more specific immigration crackdowns on potential terrorists––including legislation Paul himself proposed––telling him he can’t be bragging about being tough while being “the weakest of all the candidates on immigration.”

He said Rubio “has more of an allegiance to Chuck Schumer and the liberals than he does to conservative foreign policy.”

Rubio shot back that Paul’s bill was not focused on terrorists, it was broader, and he opposed it for those reasons, adding that Paul’s surveillance position is the wrong one of the U.S. hopes to find out more information about potential terrorists.
