Rubio Confronts Trump: Not Insulting Islam Isn’t Politically Correct, It’s Just Correct!
Donald Trump said on CNN last night that he thinks “Islam hates us,” so naturally he was confronted on it at tonight’s Republican debate.
Jake Tapper asked if he meant all Muslims. Trump said, “I mean a lot of ’em!” He insisted there is “tremendous hatred” and “something going on that maybe you don’t know about there.”
Rubio pounced and declared that “presidents can’t just say anything they want!” He said that the United States needs to work with Muslim allies and there’s a “very hostile environment” being spread thanks to what Trump is saying.
Trump shot back by invoking 9/11 and saying, “You can be politically correct if you want, I don’t want to be so politically correct.”
Rubio responded by saying that not insulting Islam isn’t about being politically correct, it’s about just “being correct.”
