SNL‘s Cold Open Takes On Matt Gaetz’s Sex Scandals: ‘I Can Spot a Teen Predator When I See One’

Saturday Night Live’s cold open made fun of Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for the ongoing scandals he’s facing for alleged sex trafficking and solicitation.

The opening sketch showed Chloe Fineman portraying Britney Spears hosting a TV talk show with people who’ve come into controversy lately, like Lil Nas X and Pepe Le Pew. Things took a drastic turn though when Pete Davidson walked in portraying Gaetz, who is under a firestorm for allegedly paying young women for sex.

Spears immediately delved into the bombshell as she deemed the scandal “so bizarre, so incredibly Florida that I need to get it straight.” When asked if he dated a 17-year-old minor, brought her on trips across state lines, took ecstasy and had sex with prostitutes, Davidson-Gaetz answered “allegedly” to all of the above.

Fineman-Spears then asked if it was true that Gaetz showed his Republican colleagues naked photos of the women he allegedly had sex with.

“Which is not a crime!” Davidson-Gaetz interjected. “Just…horrifying.”

“I don’t know Matt. I think I can spot a teen predator when I see one,” Fineman-Spears responded. “After all, I was on The Mickey Mouse Club.”

This eventually led to Davidson-Gaetz complaining that “people are targeting me because I defended Donald Trump.” When asked though if Trump has said anything in his defense, his answer was “giggity squat,” and he didn’t get any sympathy from Spears’ other guests.
