The View’s Joy Behar Praises Thomas Massie as the ‘One Republican You Can Respect Right Now’

The View’s Joy Behar took a brief break from blasting Republicans on Wednesday to offer praise to Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

On Wednesday’s The View, the hosts kicked the show off with a discussion on FBI Director Kash Patel and his fiery Senate hearing the day before, specifically the answers he gave on convicted child predator Jeffrey Epstein.

Patel claimed during the hearing that there is no proof that Epstein was sex trafficking women to anyone but himself during his lifetime. The statement has left critics scratching their heads as Epstein was facing sex trafficking charges when he died in 2019, his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell is serving 20 years for sex trafficking, and victims of Epstein have spoken about compiling their own list of Epstein associates who assaulted them.

None of the hosts of The View bought into Patel’s claim. Sunny Hostin argued Patel’s answers on Epstein only give more reasons that people should see more files related to Epstein, while Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Massie is behind an effort to whip up bipartisan support for legislation that would force the release of more Epstein-related files.

Behar spent most of the political talk on Wednesday expressing fear that “we’re all screwed” thanks to Republicans and the administration, but the comedian revealed Massie is the one Republican she has some respect for right now.

“We need the Epstein files,” Hostin said. “We need to demand it.”

“People are demanding it,” Behar said.

“We need to continue because what people have missed in the news cycle is that the Republicans did a very late, late vote and refused to release it,” Hostin continued. “Refused to release it.”

“Thomas Massie is pushing for them to be released,” Griffin responded.

“Thomas Massie, get the files!” Hostin yelled.

“He’s the one Republican that you can respect right now,” Behar declared about Massie, one of Congress’ more libertarian-leaning Republicans who has been critical of the president on Epstein and more.

Griffin noted other Republicans have supported Massie’s efforts on Epstein, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Nancy Mace (R-SC), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

“There’s a handful, but we’ve praised them before,” Griffin told Behar. “There were a handful of women who supported the discharge petition, but it should be released.”
