During his televised meeting with bipartisan lawmakers on gun control, President Trump said the police should’ve taken the Parkland shooter’s guns away:
“The police saw that he was a problem, they didn’t take any guns away. Now, that could’ve been policing. They should’ve taken them away anyway, whether they had the right or not.”
He also said he does not believe mentally ill people should have guns.
At one point later, the President said, “I like taking the guns early.”
