Secretary of State Blinken Reveals U.S. is Looking Into Reports That Americans Are Among the Dead and Kidnapped in Israel
Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed Sunday the U.S. government is looking into reports of dead and kidnapped Americans in Israel following Saturday’s attacks by Hamas.
Speaking with Dana Bash on CNN’s State of the Union, Blinken acknowledged the State Department is trying to confirm the reports of American hostages.
“We have reports that several Americans were killed, we’re working overtime to verify that,” Blinken said. “At the same time. There are reports of missing Americans and, there again, we’re working to verify those reports.”
Blinken also made similar comments on NBC’s Meet the Press and CBS’s Face the Nation.
Israeli media is reporting more than 600 have been killed thus far in the attacks. Dozens more are believed to have been taken to Gaza as hostages.
